Gallery Talks
Rienzi hosts lectures and conversations in the galleries with curators, professors, educators, and art historians. These talks include deep dives into specific works; larger themes in Rienzi’s collection; and cultural conversations during Hispanic Heritage Month.
Punch Party
Every fall, Punch Party provides a unique opportunity to explore Rienzi’s art collection and the 18th-century tradition of English punch: a blend of spirits, citrus, sugar, and spices. Guests sample classic cocktail recipes as well as modern punches while enjoying music on Rienzi’s terrace and at the pool garden. Masquerade attire is welcome.
Twilight Tours
Visit Rienzi to enjoy wine, light bites, and live music against the beautiful backdrop of twilight. Explore the galleries and chat with docents about works of art in Rienzi’s collection. Twilight Tours take place seasonally, with a special event for Valentine’s Day.
Historic Dinner
Rienzi’s Historic Dinner is a fine-dining experience presented every spring in partnership with a local restaurant. The dinner explores the history of a particular alcohol or liquor, with custom cocktails accompanying each carefully curated course. Recent Historic Dinners have featured the Marigold Club (gin), Le Jardinier at MFAH (Champagne), and Étoile Cuisine et Bar (Armagnac).
Performances
Throughout the year, Rienzi partners with performing arts organizations to host concerts in the ballroom. In December, the Houston Grand Opera’s Sarah and Ernest Butler Studio winter recitals feature works curated and performed by young artists from the Butler Studio.
